A Florida man has been arrested after he allegedly shot and killed his wife in their home after she had recently filed for divorce.

According to PEOPLE, 41-year-old Lamar Bryant was arrested on charges of first-degree murder in connection to the killing of his wife, Takeshia Eads, earlier this month.

Orange County Sheriff's deputies initially responded to a report of a possible shooting at a home in Orlo Vista on Tuesday (March 25).

"My son-in-law shot my daughter!" the caller told 911 dispatchers, according to an arrest affidavit.

Eads was found at the couple's home with a gunshot wound to the head. She was taken to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Before the shooting, Bryant had picked up one of their daughters from school and stopped by a storage unit on the way home, according to investigators. The child told officials that her father kept guns in the unit. After returning to the car, the girl said Bryant "removed two firearms from his pockets and placed them on the center console."

Eads was standing outside when the father and daughter returned home. She and Bryant then went inside the house together, and shots were fired shortly after.

The victim had reportedly filed for divorce from Bryant after 10 years of marriage. Bryant allegedly didn't want to sign the papers.

Bryant is currently being held without bond.
