Nike is launching new sneakers in honor of late NBA star Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna, both of whom died in a January 2020 helicopter crash, ahead of Father's Day.

On Friday (June 7), Nike is set to release Kobe 4 Proto "Girl Dad" Sneakers dedicated to the father-daughter duo, according to the company's website.

"This special edition of the Kobe 4 Protro pulls inspiration from a courtside moment shared between Kobe and Gigi," the product description of the shoe states.

The new sneakers come in a bold green, with black shoe laces, the phrase "Girl Dad" on the tongue, and Kobe's signature on the side of the shoe.

"With 'Girl Dad' printed on the inner tongue and a total orange insole inspired by Kobe's support of women's basketball and the WNBA hoodie he was wearing, this meaningful rendition invites you to celebrate the power of Girl Dads everywhere," the description says.

Nike said Kobe's iconic green beanie inspired the shoe's color.

Kobe's wife, Vanessa, who shared daughters Natalia, Bianka, Capri, and the late "Gigi" with the NBA star, showed off the new sneaker in several Instagram posts.

"For our Most Valuable Girl Dad. This Father's Day we celebrate Kobe's commitment and love for our daughters Natalia, Gianna, Bianka and Capri with the Kobe 4 Protro 'Girl Dad," she wrote in a caption.

"Grateful for the passion Kobe had for our daughters and the light he brought to women's sports," Vanessa added in another post.

Nike's Kobe 4 Protro "Girl Dad" sneakers are set to retail for $190.
