Titans wideout Corey Davis plans to honor his brother on Thursday night (November 12) by doing what they both loved to do.
While the Titans wide receiver brother, Titus Davis, died on Wednesday (November 11) at the age of 27, Corey plans to play tonight in a division rival game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Titus passed away at the age of 27 after being diagnosed with renal medullary carcinoma, a rare form of kidney cancer, per the New York Post. In July, a GoFundMe was started by Samantha Hall to support Titus amidst his cancer battle.
The late athlete starred as a receiver at Central Michigan while breaking Antonio Brown's records for the most receiving yards and touchdowns in a career. He spent some time in the NFL on practice squads, but never appeared in a game.
His death was announced on Twitter by Miami Dolphins safety and Grand Rapids native Kavon Frazier, a teammate of Titus at Central Michigan. He called the receiver "one of the most talented players I’ve played with.”
Titus' coach at CMU, Dan Enos, also spoke of his talent in a statement to The News. “I’m heartbroken by the loss of Titus, who was first and foremost an outstanding person,” Dan, who now is on staff at Cincinnati, said. “On the field, he was a phenomenal athlete and competitor. He was also a great friend and teammate to many.”
